01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

Located on the ground floor of a building along the street in Kanda Misakicho, Yoshoku (陽食) is a Western-style Japanese dining spot where guests can enjoy carefully prepared dishes paired with wine. Arranged around a counter along with a few table seats, the compact space offers an easygoing, comfortable setting whether stopping by for a solo dinner or spending an evening over drinks.

One of the restaurant's signature offerings is its demiglace omurice topped with a soft, runny omelet. A delicate, custardy omelet is draped over chicken rice pan-fried in an iron skillet, accompanied by a rich demiglace sauce slowly simmered for over three days using a recipe inherited from the chef's father. Slicing into the omelet reveals a velvety texture that balances the bittersweet depth of the sauce, making it satisfying as a standalone entree or shared to round out a dinner with wine.

Wine-Friendly Meat Dishes and a Diverse Appetizer Selection

For a more substantial main, the thick-cut ginger pork steak is a prominent choice. Salt-cured thick pork shoulder is seared in a pan for aroma, finished gently in the oven to retain its juiciness, and coated in a house-made ginger sauce accented with vegetables and fruit. The cold appetizer selection is also well stocked, featuring dishes like a gorgonzola mousse blended with fresh cream and served with walnuts and honey, as well as a daily appetizer assortment that diners can assemble from the day's choices.

Because the restaurant operates primarily during evening hours and has limited seating, reserving ahead is recommended. Credit cards are accepted, alongside QR-code payments including PayPay and d-Barai.
